19世紀の名画《Pharaoh’s Horses》（J. F. Herring Sr., 1848）を立体化した、3頭のアラブ馬モチーフのブックエンド・ペア。
黒のジャパンド調ベースにブロンズをドライブラシで重ねた陰影が美しく、たてがみの流線や鼻先の表情まで見事に彫り起こされています。1920–40年代、米国の室内装飾で愛された古典テーマで、リーガル／エクエストリアン（馬術）趣味の書棚に最高の存在感。アールデコ期の力強い造形と、馬のスピード感が同居する逸品です。
